How it Started…

A bit about me

Hi! I’m Leah. I’m a registered paediatric nurse (specialising in genomics) who loves to dance, travel (when permitted), eat good food and spend time with family.

Why coding?

During the second UK national lockdown, my husband (who is a keen and passionate software engineer) suggested I try learning to code. Working with or learning about software is not something I had ever considered before. However, I suddenly had plenty of time of my hands and wanted to occupy my mind with something other than the uncertainty and worry of the pandemic. With a relaxed and open mind, I agreed to “give it a try” and allowed him to sign me up to the Learn Enough to be Dangerous courses by Michael Hartl.

What happened next?

To cut a (kind of) long story short, it is now 6 months on and I am still learning to code in my spare time. I still have a lot to learn but I figured now was a good time to start documenting my progress.
